Artist Jim Shore was born in South Carolina in the United States. He grew up in a rural setting as the son of artistic parents who had a love of American folk art. His grandmother was skilled in quilting and patchwork. From her he learned the skills and patience needed to create good designs. His talent and skill in laying down a versatile pallet of patterns can be seen in the Heartwood Creek and Disney Traditions collections. Jim Shore created these series in collaboration with Enesco, the company he has been working with since 2001.
The Heartwood Creek series is based on American and European folk art. The hand-painted figures include Santa Clauses large and small, guardian angels, cheerful snowmen and a beautiful spring collection.
